Dr Kazmi is a consultant haematologist and Director of Haemostasis and Thrombosis Centre at University Hospital Southampton. He established the coagulation medicine Services to achieve the status of Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre in 2007 with full accreditation by the European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders.

Dr Kazmi is heavily involved in research. He is a chief investigator and principal investigator on a number of studies including gene therapy trials in haemophilia, novel treatments for immune thrombocytopenia and reversal of direct oral anticoagulants. He is engaged in collaborative research with neurosurgeons, urologists, hepatologists and obstetricians in areas of mutual interest in haemostasis and thrombosis. He is a fellow at the Royal College of Physicians and Royal College of Pathologists.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading and is especially interested in contemporary fiction and history.
